Founded in 2022 by passionate Somali-American public health professionals, Nolosha Development strives to address the housing disparity affecting East African households in the Twin Cities. A study by the Local Initiatives Support Corporation Twin Cities revealed that less than 1 in 5 East African households own homes in the area. This disparity is fueled by the high cost of housing, limited access to credit, and a preference for steering clear of interest-bearing loans in the housing market. Our unwavering mission is to turn homeownership into a pivotal step towards generational wealth building, making this opportunity a reality for more East Africans. Through our efforts, we aim to lay the foundation for a vibrant and equitable community in Minnesota.
